Glad to see that one of my recent customers (and friend!) has managed to mount his newly painted oars in his home.

He was originally worried that his wife wouldn’t find room in the new home decoration plans for a full length oar. Seems that he worked it out somehow…

The Ship Shop (chandlery) at RHKYC has just re-opened in it’s new location in the freshly built annex to the administration building.

David Ho, the manager, displays the trophy blade that will mark this occasion and also the location of the rowing items in the shop. I will have to modify this blade as we had anticipated a late April opening and it happened at the start of June!

The small model blades in the display cabinet are by Sparhawk in the USA (http://www.sparhawkmodeloars.com).

I have remembered the wonders of the Internet Wayback Machine! With this wonderful device I was able to get all my old copy.

I’m getting to know the WordPress system and have added a few details and images.

Most of my old information and copy is on a back up disk that is currently in a shipping container, so some details will wait until that arrives. I didn’t really want to re-write everything!

After a few years hiatus, Trophyoars.com is back.

I haven’t been idle since the old site went of line. Despite not being visible I have still continued to hand paint trophy oars (and other types of paddles, including outrigger canoe and dragon boat!), but was mostly doing it for a smaller audience closer to my home club.

Now I have moved countries for work and find myself much closer to one of the major homes of rowing – London.

I’ll be slowly sorting out this website and also getting to know the local rowing community. You can contact me about oars at any time and I would be more than happy to look at any project that you might have.
